iPhone Repairs

Being an Apple Authorised Service Provider iStore is the best place to get your iPhone repaired. iStore uses Apple provided diagnostic tools and procedures to ensure we treat your device as Apple intended.

Getting your iPhone Fixed

Bring your iPhone in to iStore where it will be booked in to our service department to be assessed by one of our service technicians. If your device is covered under warranty we will repair or replace your device and contact you when your device is ready for collection. Due to Apple's repair policy your iPhone will need to remain in our service department for the duration of the repair.

If your device is covered under warranty we will service your iPhone and advise you when it is ready for collection. Due to the complicated nature of iPhone repairs, not all repairs are able to be undertaken in iStore's service department and your device may be sent to Apple's repair centre where it will be assessed, repaired or replaced and returned to iStore.

Diagnostic fees and pricing

If your device is less than a year old, and the issue covered by Apple's Limited Warranty the service will be free of charge. If your unit was purchased in New Zealand and is less than 24 months old it may be covered under Apple's variable warranty.

For all iPhone repairs – in or out of warranty – there is a $49 assessment fee that is applicable. If your repair is covered under Apple Limited Warranty, Apple Variable Warranty, Apple One Time Exception, AppleCare+ or Apple REP coverage, iStore will not charge the diagnostic fee. If a quote of repair is accepted and a repair is carried out by iStore, this fee will be put toward the final repair cost.

If your device has suffered physical damage to either its display or enclosure or failed outside of warranty you can still get it serviced at iStore. Follow the link below to see our full list of iPhone repair pricing.

How long will it take?

We aim for a service turn around time of 3 - 5 working days for iPhone hardware repairs, however this may vary depending on the current work load of the service department.1

Battery Service

If your iPhone is suffering from battery life issues iStore can diagnose the issue. If we confirm a failed or consumed battery we can attempt to replace the battery. If the battery removal fails your entire iPhone will need replacing for the same quoted price for battery replacement.

Before you bring in your device

Perform a backup

Before bringing in your iPhone to be serviced please ensure you have done all appropriate backups of your data. iStore will have to erase your device to help diagnose and confirm an issue.

In some situations iStore can provide data backup and restore during the troubleshooting stage, however this is not covered by Apple Warranty and will incur a service charge. Unfortunately iStore is unable to perform data recovery on iOS devices.

Remove Find my iPhone

Before we can service iPhone, Apple require us to turn off the security feature known as 'Find my iPhone'. This can be turned off via the iPhone’s iCloud settings.

Before we book the device in for service our staff will ask you remove 'Find my iPhone' with your Apple ID password.
