Mac Repair Pricing

If your machine is less than a year old and the issue covered by Apple's Limited Warranty the service will be free of charge. If your unit was purchased in New Zealand and is less than 36 months old it may be covered under Apple's variable warranty. All Mac repairs require a diagnostic and quote for repair but if you accept the quoted repair the diagnostic fee will be put towards the final repair.

Mac Software Updates and Repair

Unfortunately software issues are not covered by Apple's limited warranty or the AppleCare Protection Plan. If you are experiencing issues with macOS the iStore team can diagnose the issue and perform a software repair. If your system is too damaged a clean install of macOS may be required. To perform a clean install of macOS we are required to re-format your Hard Drive or SSD and will need to perform data recovery in order to save your important documents and data. If we discover a hardware fault during the software repair process we will contact you and add your machine to the hardware repair queue which will be subject to higher turn around times.

iStore can perform a clean install of macOS if you are selling your Mac or simply wish to start again with a clean system and we can also perform an operating system upgrade if you wish to upgrade to the latest version of macOS.

Data Migrations

If you are upgrading from an old computer iStore can transfer the data from your old Mac or PC to your new device. Due to the tight integration of macOS, iStore is able to migrate most data from one Mac to another however things are a little more complicated when migrating from a PC running Microsoft Windows.

The PC we are transferring data from needs to be running Windows XP service pack 3 or later, however for the best results we recommend providing iStore with a machine running an OS no earlier than windows 7. When migrating from a Windows based machine we are unable to migrate applications or application data so please ensure you have a macOS equivalent of any important applications you use. While most migrations are successful we cannot guarantee that all data will migrated. This may mean in some situations certain data may not come across including emails and contacts. Some applications such as the Adobe suite and Microsoft Office may require re-activating on the new Mac.

If you are purchasing the new Mac from iStore we will perform the migration free of charge.

iPhone Service and Repair Pricing

If your iPhone is less than a year old and the issue covered by Apple's Limited Warranty the service will be free of charge. If your unit was purchased in New Zealand and is less than 24 months old it may also be covered under Apple's variable warranty. For component failures in an iPhone that is currently out of warranty a diagnostic and quote for repair may be required.

If your iPhone has suffered physical damage iStore can either replace the display or have the whole unit replaced depending on the severity of the damage inflicted.

Below is our price list for the out-of-warranty service of iPhones that have experienced physical damage. If you have AppleCare+ you may be eligible for a cheaper service rate.

For battery related issues outside of coverage iStore can service the battery for a service fee.

iOS Software Support and Repair

If you are experiencing issues with your iOS device it may be a software related issue and not hardware. Our staff are experts in figuring out where your issues lie, whether it be a third party application causing your issues or an update that has caused some data corruption. If we confirm an issue we may have to erase your device and restore it to factory settings.
In these situations data backups may be required. If we restore your iPhone from a backup and the software issues return we will have to restore the device again and set up as new. Relying on iCloud syncing to get back your data such as contacts, calendar data and reminders.

iStore can perform a factory reset of your device if you are selling it or simply wish to start again with a clean system and we can also perform an operating system upgrade if you wish to upgrade to the latest version of iOS. iStore can also perform a data migration from one iOS device to another.

For all software restores you will need to know your Apple ID and Password in order for iStore staff to help remove 'Find my iPhone'. If you are unable to remove 'Find my iPhone' from your iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch you will need to contact AppleCare to recover your account information. If a restored iOS device is locked with 'Find my iPhone' that cannot be removed even after you have gone through the account recovery process you will need to provide a Proof of Purchase to AppleCare Support.

AirPods Service and Pricing

If your AirPods are less than a year old and the issue covered by Apple's Limited Warranty the service will be free of charge. If they were purchased in New Zealand and are less than 24 months old they may also be covered under Apple's variable warranty. If you are suffering from poor battery life or a fault with your AirPods or their Charging Case iStore can diagnose the issue and suggest a service. Due to the nature of the AirPods service strategy in New Zealand all failures require a service replacement of the faulty AirPod or Case.

If you have lost either of your AirPods or your AirPods Charging Case iStore can order a replacement at a discounted service fee. If you have lost your AirPods Charging Case we will need the serial number from the box or receipt to facilitate the service.

Due to the nature of the Apple TV service strategy in New Zealand all hardware failures require a service replacement of the Apple TV or it's accessory.

If your Apple TV is stuck in recovery mode or is experiencing software issues iStore can perform a tvOS restore. This will result in the Apple TV being erased and set up as new.

Please be aware that we require a valid proof of purchase for all Beats products that are sitting outside of the Apple Limited Warranty. Insurance Assessments

If your device has suffered damage due to an unfortunate mishap iStore can provide you with an insurance assessment. Some damage such as liquid damage is usually uneconomical to repair and would require a replacement device.

If you do wish iStore to assist in assessing your device simply start a claim with your insurance company and upon book in provide us with both the claim number and a contact email address for the agent handling your claim. Once we have completed the assessment we will then forward the assessment to the agent handling your claim. If your claim is approved we will begin a repair as per our usual repair process. If your device is to be replaced through iStore we will order your replacement device and contact you when the replacement has arrived.

For all insurance assessments iStore requires the assesment fee to be paid up front. In most cases your insurance company will reimburse this assesmemt fee in the form of a payout or reducing the amount of excess you have to pay.
